In 2014, she made her first film appearance as Suhara (childhood) in the Malayalam language film Balyakalasakhi. The film stars Mammootty, Isha Talwar, Meena, Seema Biswas, KPAC Lalitha, and Mamukkoya.
Saniya Iyappan appeared as a contestant on the dance reality television series D 4 Dance in 2015 and concluded her journey on the show as the 2nd runner-up.
She brought to life the character of Chinnu in the 2018 Malayalam-language thriller film Queen. Her co-stars for the project included Dhruvan, Ashwin Jose, Eldho Mathew, and Arun H. Das.
For her role in Queen, Saniya Iyappan received various accolades including the Filmfare Award for “Best Female Debut – South”, Vanitha Film Award for “Best Newcomer Actress”, and South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA Award) for “Best Debut Malayalam”.

She made a cameo appearance as Swapna in the 2019 Malayalam-language comedy-drama film Sakalakalashala.
